Dental Implants

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root placed into your jaw to hold a replacement tooth or bridge in place. Dental implants are so natural looking and feeling, you may forget you ever lost a tooth.

Periodontal Disease

Periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, is one of the most common infections in the United States. In fact, more than 75 percent of American adults over age 35 have some form of periodontal disease. In a recent survey, eight out of ten Americans believed they did not have periodontal disease, but seven out of ten exhibited one or more symptoms.

Aesthetic Procedures

If you show a lot of gum tissue when you smile and your teeth are short, you may be a candidate for Cosmetic Crown Lengthening. Your teeth may be the proper length, but they are hidden with excessive gum tissue. This “gummy smile” can be corrected by performing Cosmetic Crown Lengthening. This periodontal procedure is a careful reshaping of the tissue to expose the natural length of your tooth.

Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening is a procedure performed to expose tooth structure for proper repair.  Often, when a tooth decays or fractures, it requires a restoration such as a filling or crown.  Crown lengthening is a procedure done before the final restoration, to expose healthy tooth structure so that the restoration can be finished on healthy tooth structure.  Performing crown lengthening allows for a better restoration, one that is less likely to experience further decay or fracture.  In addition, crown lengthening is often done to save and repair a tooth, rather than remove it, when the prognosis is questionable.

We believe that many teeth that are chosen for extraction can be saved with crown lengthening, allowing for the preservation of natural teeth.

Prevention

Just like we practice healthy habits for our total body health, it is important to practice preventive dental care. Professional dental cleanings and checkups are an investment in your future dental health.

Maintenance Therapy

With Dr. Batos, maintenance therapy is an ongoing program designed to prevent disease in the gum tissues and bone supporting your teeth. The building blocks of this program are simple: conscientious care of your mouth at home and regular maintenance visits with your dentist and periodontist.
